“As founder of the P2P Foundation, a global observatory of peer to peer practices in every domain of human endeavor, I have been able to work with Carpe Verum, researching the intersection of network dynamics and business practices. It seems clear to many, including ourselves, that, especially in the context of the crisis of Lebanon, we need to re-invent some of our key institutions. The work on the creation of a Fourth Sector of the economy, which is neither for-profit, nor non-profit, and not governmental, but rather a mutually aligned ecosystem of partners that share similar goals, and can jointly achieve economic and social goals, is an idea whose time has come. All the pieces of the puzzle are technologically ready to create these highly efficient and intensely collaborative entities,'Real Time Public Ledger Organizations' , based on the years of experience of open source and blockchain-based economic projects, that can be used to jumpstart a strong and trust-based local economy, that is at the same time able to tap in the best global knowledge of experience. This new 'cosmo-local' modality is the new way for the sustainable creation of value and I am convinced this is the place where it will be pioneered. ”
