Carpe Verum was the initiative of Mayssam Daaboul. Our collaboration began in 2018 when he was writing his thesis on the ethics of the P2P decentralized economy. Mayssam acquired hands-on experience with commons-based peer production within the Sensorica network, contributing to Greens for Good venture. Currently, he is a moderator, mentor and affiliate of Sensorica OVN. Carpe Verum was born in the midst of a dire economic situation in Lebanon with the aim to reimagine the 4th Sector economy as a strategy aimed to reduce the country's economic troubles.

As founder of the P2P Foundation, a global observatory of peer to peer practices in every domain of human endeavor, I have been able to work with Carpe Verum, researching the intersection of network dynamics and business practices. The work on the creation of a Fourth Sector of the economy, which is neither for-profit nor non-profit, but rather a mutually aligned ecosystem of partners that can jointly achieve economic and social goals, is an idea whose time has come.
